Resetting The Password On Ubuntu 9 On A Mac by charlenes37

i dont see a mac cateogory here, only linux, so ill ask here. i have a mac with ubuntu 9 and to be honest, i am so dumb, i forgot the password becuz i hardly used it before and now i want to get back where i left off, how can i reset the root password without having to re-install the operating system all over again
